asking why can't i?
name ; lee sungmin.
age ; nineteen.
gender ; male.
orientation ; a four on the kinsey scale.
height, weight ; 174cm, 57kg.
distinguishing features ; hair that is constantly changing.
flaws ; slightly small for his age, may or may not have a height complex.
tattoos or piercings ; ear piercings, one on each lobe.
overall look and style ; Sungmin has a generally friendly face his friends occasionally remark looks like an opossum. There's always a twinkle in his eye that is mischievous and borderline calculating. He has a small nose, and prominent cheeks that transition slowly to a rounded chin. He has thin lips and faint dimples when he smiles, even if he doesn't mean it. There are piercings on both ears, often covered by soft tufts of hair.
His hair's been through a lot of abuse, considering how frequently he dyes it. He's convinced to this day that he can pull off absolutely any hairstyle, and plans to explore that. He often goes back to some type of bleached blond, but he tried pink once and people had said it was disturbing. For that reason only, he is likely to try again. Occasionally, he can be in the mood for tattoos as well, but it's only henna.
Sungmin's style of clothing is casual, sometimes a little odd, but he believes to have very good tastes. He wears faded jeans, numerous tshirts, and hooded sweaters. Frequently, he also favors thin, buttonup silk shirts. Most of the items in his wardrobe, however, are clothes other males wouldn't be caught dead wearing. Maybe that's why he keeps them.
likes ; purple skies, rooftops, mints, autumn nights, tree-climbing, scaring people, annoying people, wine, pretty boys, sex, darts, cotton candy, fire, blood [he thinks it's pretty], colors, coffee, new clothes.
dislikes ; grass stains, rain/getting unnecessarily wet, cars, elevators, basements/underground areas, horses, whiskey, parents, tight spaces, cigarette smoke, talking on the phone, apologies.
strengths ; People really, really don’t want a fight with him if they have no unnatural abilities to boast of. Sungmin knows his martial arts, and if ever caught unarmed, he is more than willing to use his fists. Has a frighteningly good aim with a dart board. He’s also good at talking people in circles, sometimes enjoying himself too much to just shut up. He’s friendly enough on the surface, and a decent actor when he needs to be. Lying is second nature, whether it’s necessary or not. He has a decent stamina and a particularly high tolerance of pain, often unaware he’s bleeding until his shirt is ruined. He’s also rather agile, with an uncanny love for high places.
weaknesses ; Sungmin is stubborn as hell, and very good at avoiding people when he needs to be. He makes his way around problems by moving somewhere else or pretending it isn't there. He gets angry easily over the slightest thing, and no one really understands why. He could antagonize the entire world, and has few very close friends. Slightly claustrophobic, and absolutely hates water [not the best swimmer]. When he does form attachments, emotional or otherwise, he can be petty, easily offended, and very possessive. He's also quite the daredevil, never hesitating in goading others to provide amusement or jumping to a challenge himself. It hasn't gotten him killed yet, so he thinks it's all good.
secrets ;
+ He can't travel anywhere except on foot, only getting into a car or train when he has to. Anything from horseback riding to airplanes. It's gotten in the way of his trying to move before, which is why he's never been out of the country.
+ He'd rather take twenty flights of stairs than get into an elevator, even if it means being late to some important meeting.
+ More or less an insomniac. Goes several months without sleep sometimes. It leaves him in poor condition with a foul mood and dulled survival instinct.
+ He cannot swim. At all.
fears ; tight spaces, water [lakes, rivers, the ocean], confrontation [facing the thunder], guilt – generally, he’s good at not feeling guilty. He hates saying or hearing the word 'sorry,' and worries surprisingly often that people will mistake him for a good person. Because he's not. Really.
overall personality ; He has the sweetest laugh, the most endearing smile, and the brattiest attitude when he feels like it. Sungmin loves to play around, and nothing is ever serious, even relationships. [Besides, those who like the cute type always go to him, and that never lasts long]. He may seem a little strange in the head, because one second he'll be cool and appraising, and the next, he's all laughs and kisses. Sungmin's just a little stuck up in that if he deems someone not worth his trouble, he doesn't bother to hide it. He says what he thinks, but only of you. What you see is [almost] what you get.
Surprisingly, he doesn't like to talk about himself, and neither is he very keen on listening. He gets bored easily, and when he suddenly becomes too polite, you know he's tired of you. Sungmin likes pointless conversation that effectively kills time and makes him forget that he has work. He isn't the most diligent person you'll ever meet, with a severely lacking work ethic and skewed sense of right and wrong.
When he is very angry the results are not pretty. You’ll notice he becomes dangerously sweet and well-mannered as he’s contemplating the different ways to skin you alive. He’d want to know everything about you, but just ask one thing about himself, and he’d shut himself off in a heartbeat. He’s a lot stronger and more malicious than he looks, but he’s also a lot more fragile, depending on where you hit him. He can be understanding, it’s just that he rarely want to.
He doesn't have what it takes to ever stay in one place, or even sit down and read a book. Paperwork is a nightmare, and he'd almost always push it on someone else if he could. He's restless, and his habit of wandering only proves that he's never learned how to deal with solitude. Manipulation happens to be something he is very good at, and when he does become curious [or wants something from you] it could be very helpful, indeed. Sungmin's not the nicest person you'll ever meet, and he might even be too much for you to keep up with, but that's all right, because he usually doesn't give a damn about you, either.
